Artist's Statement
Carrie began oil painting at the age of fourteen, taking private lessons from artists in her hometown of Tampa, Florida. As an adult, she has studied painting and drawing at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art in Chicago.
Carrie is primarily a realist painter, with a focus on landscapes including rural country scenes, doors
and cityscapes. In addition to landscapes, Carrie paints still lifes and portraits. Her medium is
usually oil on canvas, with a smaller proportion of her work in opaque watercolors on watercolor
paper and soft pastels on paper. Carrie is a colorist and enjoys experimenting with a wide range of
pigments on her palette.
Carrie received her B.S. from Northwestern University and her M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of
Management.
Carrie’s paintings are hanging in a variety of Evanston restaurants, including Blind Faith Café, Le
Peep and Prairie Moon.
